Richard Scott Jennings, founder and president of Sarasota Goldleaf Studio, studied fine art before apprenticing with Julius Lowy Frame and Restoration Company in New York City.

While at Lowy Richard studied the art and science of traditional water gilding as well as the craft of hand carving frame designs. His hands-on education also included the conservation of gilt objects.

Richard has been designing and building frames using his knowledge of frame history and fabrication techniques for twenty-five years. He brings his respect for tradition and fine craftsmanship to every frame he designs, produces or restores for his clients.
